Ammon News -

Jordan takes pride in the continued success and expansion of Jordanian-founded Hikma Pharmaceuticals in the United States, reflecting the strong economic partnership between the two countries, the Jordanian Embassy in Washington said.

In a post on X, the embassy said US Congressman Mike Carey recently visited Hikma's manufacturing facility in Columbus, Ohio, where he met with employees and toured the company's expanded production lines.

Carey also shared details of his visit in a post on X, saying he was pleased to see progress on the expanded production lines and meet with employees.

"Sixteen months after joining Hikma for the groundbreaking of its new wing, it’s exciting to see the project on track to be fully operational next year," he said.

Carey added: "Hikma manufactures affordable, high-quality generic medicines right here in Ohio, while creating good-paying jobs for Ohioans. I’m proud to support their continued investment in our state and their work to lower health care costs for Americans."

The embassy said the visit comes as the White House recognized Hikma's $267 million investment to expand its facilities in Columbus and Bedford, which is expected to create 350 new jobs.
