Ammon News - Ammon has learned that the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not consulted its Jordanian counterpart on the nomination of any individual to serve as Syria's ambassador to the Kingdom.
Since Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa took office, Syria has neither consulted Jordan nor indicated that it intends to appoint an ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as has traditionally been the practice.
Social media users had congratulated a member of the Al-Musalat family on his appointment as Damascus's ambassador to Amman, reportedly with the approval of al-Sharaa. However, sources in Damascus have denied the reports so far.
Syria is currently represented in Jordan, since the revolution, by senior diplomat Ihsan Rumman.
