Ammon News - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing began work on Wednesday evening to construct a temporary service road alongside Al-Rama Bridge on the Al-Rama–Al-Joufah road, aiming to ensure the mobility of local residents and pedestrians and mitigate the impact of the road closure following the appearance of cracks in the bridge caused by flash floods and heavy rainfall in the area.
The work includes constructing a temporary road equipped with culverts to drain rainwater and floodwaters, as well as concrete barriers to ensure the safety of road users. The temporary road will remain in use to serve local traffic until the damaged bridge is demolished and rebuilt and the road is permanently reopened.
The ministry stressed its commitment to accelerating the completion of the work and opening the road to local traffic as soon as possible. Meanwhile, trucks and through-traffic vehicles will continue to be diverted to alternative routes to ensure public safety and maintain smooth traffic flow.
