Ammon News - Head of the Jordanian Citrus Agricultural Cooperative Association, Abdul Rahman Al-Ghazawi said that weather conditions overnight caused significant damage to agricultural crops, particularly corn and citrus fruits, in Al-Mashare' in the Northern Jordan Valley.
Al-Ghazawi indicated that corn crops had been flattened by the weather, while citrus farms sustained damage as leaves were blown off trees and fruits fell to the ground, causing losses for farmers.
He called on the Ministry of Agriculture to dispatch its teams to the affected areas and conduct urgent field inspections to assess the extent of the damage and evaluate farmers' losses.
Al-Ghazawi stressed the need to support affected farmers and provide fair compensation proportionate to their losses, noting that the damage threatens farmers' efforts and agricultural returns.
He also urged immediate action to address the impact of the weather conditions on the agricultural sector in the Northern Jordan Valley and support affected farmers.
