Ammon News - Prof. Dr. Faisal Odeh Al-Rfouh expressed his profound sorrow and deep regret, together with his strongest condemnation and denunciation of the heinous attack targeting Hammoud Church in Jordan, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives and injuries to others.

Al-Rfouh indicated that this reprehensible crime stands in direct contradiction to all Islamic religious principles, moral values, and humanitarian ideals. It constitutes an assault on our nation’s security and stability, as well as on the sanctity of places of worship.

This attack is not directed against members of the Christian community alone; rather, it is an attack on all Jordanians and on the enduring values of fraternity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence that have, throughout the history of the Jordanian state, formed the solid foundations of our national unity and Jordanian identity, Al-Rfouh added.

He reaffirmed that Muslims and Christians in Jordan are citizens of one homeland, united by their shared citizenship and common destiny. Any threat to the security of a Jordanian citizen is, therefore, a threat to the security of the entire nation.

Also he reaffirmed his profound pride in the Hashemite leadership, under His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and His Royal Highness our Crown Prince, as well as his unwavering confidence in our Armed Forces, security services, the courageous guardians of justice, and state institutions in safeguarding our nation’s security, uncovering the circumstances surrounding this attack, and bringing those responsible to justice in accordance with the law.

Al-Rfouh called for the further strengthening of national unity, the consolidation of moderation and tolerance, and the firm rejection of extremism and hate speech, in order to preserve Jordan’s security and the cohesion of its social fabric.

He extended his heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims, and to the Christian brothers and sisters in Karak and throughout the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, wishing the injured a swift and complete recovery and express my full solidarity with all those affected by this painful tragedy.

Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, with the wisdom of its people and the strength of its national institutions, shall remain a homeland of fraternity, tolerance, and peace, steadfast against extremism and sectarian discord.
