Ammon News - Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan inspected on Monday Al-Hashimi Shamali Comprehensive Health Center in Marka District.
Hassan directed to update the medical devices and equipment at the center, and that it be staffed with the necessary personnel to improve the quality of health services provided to citizens, in addition to rehabilitating and maintaining some of the center’s facilities.
The center serves approximately 120,000 people, with 15,000 citizens visiting it each month.
The Center was established in 1999. It spans three floors with an area on 1,800 meters, situated on a 3-dunam plot of land. Accredited by the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC), the center provides a wide range of services, including emergency and ambulance care, general medicine, maternal and child health, dentistry, psychiatry, nutrition, rehabilitation, dermatology, family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and physical therapy, in addition to housing a laboratory and a pharmacy.
Hassan also visited the Jordanian Academy for Tourism and Hospitality in Marka District.
The Prime Minster directed support for the academy to expand its programmes, rehabilitate its workshops and classrooms, equip the facilities with a public safety system, establish a new multipurpose hall, upgrade its computer lab, and maintain several facilities.
He also instructed that the academy be provided with the equipment and tools needed to improve its training services and attract more young men and women, enabling them to acquire the skills and vocational qualifications required to enter the labour market.
Established in 1986, the academy has 13 workshops and classrooms dedicated to delivering training programmes. It currently has 393 male and female trainees and operates on morning and evening shifts.
The academy offers seven training programmes in fields including food and beverage production and service, German language, and other vocational specialisations in demand in the labour market.
The employment rate among the academy’s graduates stands at approximately 65%, and it graduated 440 trainees last year.
