Agriculture Ministry clarifies JD14,000 theft claim during olive sale at Al-Hussein Station

12-10-2026 02:54 PM

Ammon News - The Ministry of Agriculture said Monday that reports circulating on social media about the theft of an envelope containing JD14,000 during the sale of olives at Al-Hussein Agricultural Station did not reflect what actually happened.

The ministry explained that while bids submitted by 10 bidders were being opened, one bidder took his bid and attempted to flee as he was leaving the hall. He was detained by security authorities for the necessary legal procedures.

The ministry stressed that bid submissions do not contain any cash.

It urged the public to verify information and rely on official sources, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, integrity and compliance with applicable regulations and instructions.
