05-10-2026 04:00 PM

Ammon News - Senate President Faisal Fayez and Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Hakan Karaçay discussed bilateral relations and regional developments during a meeting in Amman on Monday, with talks focusing on economic cooperation, investment, and coordination on regional issues.

Fayez said Jordan is keen to strengthen relations with Türkiye and maintain coordination and consultations on issues of mutual interest. He stressed the importance of expanding economic cooperation, developing investment partnerships, and activating bilateral agreements signed between the two countries in various fields.

The meeting also addressed developments in the region. Fayez referred to His Majesty King Abdullah II’s address to the United Nations General Assembly, saying the King had presented the international community with the reality of the war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation state in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Fayez said the King had made clear that developments in the occupied West Bank could not be separated from those in Gaza, citing the expansion of settler violence, land seizures, and settlement expansion, which the King described as war crimes and forced displacement.

Fayez also reiterated Jordan’s rejection of Iranian attacks on the Kingdom and Gulf Arab states, stressing that Jordan would not allow itself to become a battleground for regional conflicts. He also condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.

For his part, the Turkish ambassador said his country is committed to strengthening bilateral relations with Jordan across various fields and continuing coordination on regional issues in support of restoring security and stability.

He also praised King Abdullah II’s role in regional security and stability and stressed the importance of expanding economic and investment partnerships and activating bilateral agreements between the two countries.
