Ammon News - Georgian media outlets reported that authorities have stepped up immigration enforcement in recent weeks, with the Interior Ministry announcing the deportation of 84 foreign nationals and banning them from re-entering the country.
According to Georgia’s First Channel, the ministry said Migration Department officers, in coordination with relevant Interior Ministry units, carried out measures that led to the deportation of nationals from several countries.
Those deported included citizens of Jordan, India, Egypt, Turkey, Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Thailand, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Ghana, Pakistan, Nigeria, the Philippines and China, as well as nationals of other countries, bringing the total to 84.
The ministry said all those deported were banned from entering Georgia again under current Georgian law.
*More than 3,000 deportations since start of year
The Georgian Interior Ministry said the deportations are part of measures by the Migration Department to monitor foreign nationals and enforce immigration and residency laws.
Official figures show that more than 3,000 foreign nationals have been deported from Georgia since the beginning of 2026.
The Migration Department, in coordination with relevant Interior Ministry units, continues to enforce legal measures concerning foreign nationals residing or present in Georgia under the country’s laws.
