Ammon News - The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority said its teams from the Internal Control Unit, Water Basins Directorate and Central Workshops, in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate's Al-Azraq Badia Security Center and Al-Ruwaished Security Center, seized an illegal drilling rig in the Al-Ruwaished area while it was being used to drill an unauthorized water well.

The operation was carried out as part of ongoing inspection campaigns conducted by the Water Authority across the Kingdom in cooperation with the relevant authorities, as part of efforts to tighten control over water resources.

The ministry added that its teams also seized another illegal drilling rig hidden in the Al-Azraq Basin area, where it had been concealed behind a poultry farm.

The two drilling rigs and their equipment were seized, the illegal well was backfilled, and both rigs were handed over to the Water Authority's Central Workshops Directorate. Official reports were filed regarding the two incidents, pending the completion of investigations and the enforcement of legal measures against those responsible.
