Jordan and the World: Why Invest in Jordan?

15-09-2026 09:33 PM

Eng. Amer Al-Jayyousi
As emerging economies seek to strengthen their role in a changing global economic and geopolitical landscape, Jordan offers a record of resilience built over more than 70 years. Its ability to withstand regional crises, preserve stability and sustain economic activity provides a compelling foundation for its investment appeal.

Jordan has navigated successive periods of turmoil across the Middle East. It has faced the consequences of the Palestinian conflict and Israeli occupation, including the repercussions of its own involvement in the conflict. It has also weathered the Lebanese civil war, the wars in Iraq and the sanctions imposed on that country, and the prolonged conflict in Syria. More recently, Jordan has demonstrated resilience amid the U.S.–Iran war, with its economy continuing to grow despite heightened regional uncertainty.

This resilience has come at a considerable cost. Successive waves of displacement have brought large numbers of refugees to Jordan, placing substantial pressure on its economy, infrastructure and public finances. Sudden population increases have required the country to respond to demands that could not have been fully anticipated in infrastructure planning or public budgets.

The impact has extended across essential services, including electricity, water, healthcare, education and social support. Meeting these needs while maintaining services for citizens has required continuous adaptation, careful resource management and difficult financial choices. Jordan’s experience reflects its capacity to withstand external shocks and manage their lasting domestic consequences.

When we present Jordan to the world as an investment destination, we draw on this record. We present a country with extensive experience in managing the effects of regional crises, maintaining stable political institutions and steering monetary and fiscal policy through challenging conditions.

These strengths are supported by a well-educated, technologically skilled population, high literacy levels, and established educational and healthcare institutions. Together, they provide a foundation for investment and long-term economic activity.

Jordan’s investment case rests on the practical experience of a country that has repeatedly adapted to disruption while preserving the stability necessary for businesses and communities to function. Its history demonstrates the value of institutional continuity, sound policy management and the ability to respond to changing circumstances.

“Invest in Jordan” is an invitation grounded in that experience. It invites investors to consider an economy with a record of resilience, strong human capabilities and leadership committed to guiding the country through uncertainty towards sustained growth.

Jordan has demonstrated these qualities through decades of difficult regional circumstances. That record gives substance to its message to the world and credibility to its invitation to invest.
