Russian Embassy in Amman invites its citizens to vote in State Duma elections

Ammon News - The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Jordan has called on Russian citizens residing in the Kingdom to participate in the upcoming elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, scheduled to take place on 20 September.

In a statement, the embassy said: "This September, elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation will be held in Russia. For Russian citizens in Jordan, the single voting day will be 20 September – here in Amman It will be organized by the Russian Embassy to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. We would like to remind our compatriots, particularly those currently residing in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, that parliamentary elections are one of the most important events in our country’s political life, shaping its course for years to come."

The Embassy added that the State Duma adopts laws that directly affect the economy, education, healthcare and social welfare. The composition of Parliament determines which projects will receive funding and which reforms will be implemented. By electing deputies, we choose the country’s development strategy and the course of its adaptation to new historical and economic realities.

The Russian Embassy in Amman invited compatriots living in Jordan to cast their votes at the polling station located at the Consular Section of the embassy, at 9 Ahmad Touqan Street, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on election day.

According to the embassy, voters are only required to present a valid Russian international passport, and no prior registration is necessary.
