Ammon News - The government's digital spokesperson, Farah, said on Wednesday that green spaces and sports fields are an essential part of quality of life, emphasizing that the government will continue establishing new parks and upgrading existing facilities across the Kingdom's governorates.

Farah explained that, under directives from the Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan, a new park will be established in Zarqa Governorate, similar to Al-Nashama Park in Marj Al-Hamam. Additional parks will also be developed in Tafileh, Ma'an, Madaba, Jerash, and Ajloun, modeled after Mafraq Park.

She noted that a 200-dunum park has been inaugurated in Mafraq, featuring around 10,000 trees, picnic areas, children's playgrounds, and sports facilities. The park will also be linked to the sports facilities of Al al-Bayt University, allowing local communities, youth, and athletes to benefit from it.

In Marj Al-Hamam, Al-Nashama Park was opened on an area of 56 dunums and includes green spaces, walking and cycling paths, and 11 sports fields for various activities.

At the Dead Sea, the Dead Sea Corniche was inaugurated on a 600-dunum site. It features a promenade, cycling track, family seating areas, children's playgrounds, and an outdoor theater with a capacity of approximately 2,500 people for cultural and artistic events. Work is also underway to rehabilitate Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II Park.

Farah added that work is continuing in other governorates and regions through the opening and rehabilitation of parks and facilities in Hallabat, Zarqa, Azraq, Hittin Camp, and Baqaa Camp, as well as facilities in Al Hussein Youth City, Prince Faisal Youth City, and the park adjacent to Al-Akeeder Health Center in the northwestern Badia.

She stressed that the aim of planting trees and creating parks is to provide better spaces for citizens and make public spaces an integral part of the lives of Jordanian families, youth, and children.
