06-09-2026 01:56 PM

Ammon News - Prime Minister Jafar Hassan chaired a meeting Sunday with ministers, officials and private sector representatives to discuss the sustainability of supply chains and ways to streamline procedures at Aqaba's ports and border crossings amid regional conditions.

Hassan stressed the need for continued coordination and effective partnership between government agencies and the private sector, calling for measures to sustain the efficient flow of goods through Aqaba's ports and all border crossings.

The meeting reviewed operations at Aqaba's ports, which function as a regional logistics hub running at full operational capacity. The ports have seen growing interest from international companies and countries, along with a marked increase in shipping activity amid competitive handling times aimed at ensuring the smooth movement of goods. Participants also reviewed conditions at other border crossings.

Officials presented logistical plans and alternatives to address the effects of current regional conditions, aimed at sustaining efficient supply chains and ensuring the availability of essential goods and commodities in the domestic market.
