Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi held extensive talks in Paris on Friday evening with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot, focusing on ways to strengthen the strong partnership between Jordan and France and on regional developments.

Safadi and Barrot underscored the depth of the friendship between Jordan and France and their shared commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, education, defense and other sectors of mutual interest, both bilaterally and within the framework of the strategic partnership with the European Union.

Safadi expressed Jordan’s anticipation of active French participation in the Jordan-EU Investment Conference, which Jordan will host on November 19.

The two ministers also affirmed their support for ongoing efforts to reach a sustainable ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

The talks addressed regional developments, with Safadi warning of the repercussions of Israel’s unlawful measures and escalatory practices in the occupied West Bank and Gaza, as well as against Syria and Lebanon, on regional security and stability.

Safadi stressed the importance of implementing all provisions of US President Donald Trump’s plan to achieve stability in Gaza. He also called for international and European action to protect regional security and stability and preserve prospects for achieving a just peace in the face of Israeli policies and practices that are pushing the West Bank toward further escalation, violating the sovereignty of Syria and Lebanon, and threatening their security and stability in blatant breach of international law.

Safadi welcomed France’s supportive position on the Palestinian people’s right to freedom and to establish an independent state on their national soil on the basis of the two-state solution. He also commended France’s efforts to establish a pathway toward implementing the solution, highlighting the importance of the Conference on the Two-State Solution, held last year through joint Saudi-French efforts.

The two ministers agreed to maintain cooperation and coordination on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing regional and international issues of common concern.
