Minister: 8 specialized clinics move to newly renovated site at Prince Hamza Hospital

03-09-2026 08:48 AM

Ammon News - Minister of Health, Ibrahim Al-Badour said that the ministry has relocated eight specialized clinics to the former emergency department site at Prince Hamza Hospital after it was renovated and equipped, following the transfer of emergency and ambulance services to Amman Field Hospital.

Al-Badour added on Thursday that the new location has been equipped with four pharmacy service windows, a medical records and billing unit, a radiology unit, a CT scanner, and a laboratory, enabling patients to complete procedures and obtain diagnostic services and medications in one place.

The relocated clinics include general surgery, neurosurgery and spine surgery, vascular surgery, trauma and fractures, orthopedic surgery, thoracic surgery, pediatric orthopedics, and vascular medicine.

He explained that relocating the clinics and establishing pharmacy windows at the new site aims to reduce overcrowding in outpatient departments, improve patient flow, shorten waiting times, speed up examinations and medical procedures, and ease pressure on the main pharmacy in the outpatient clinics building.

Al-Badour said that the rehabilitation and repurposing of the former emergency department site was carried out under directives from Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan, with the goal of maximizing the use of healthcare facilities and enhancing services provided to patients.

He added that the move is part of the Ministry of Health’s efforts to reorganize services and make better use of available spaces and infrastructure in public hospitals to meet patients’ needs and improve the healthcare environment.
