Ammon News - The Eastern Military Zone thwarted, at dawn on Wednesday within its area of responsibility, an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic substances carried by guided balloons.

Border Guard units successfully detected the balloons, engaged them, and brought them down inside Jordanian territory. The narcotics they were carrying were seized in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.

The confiscated materials were transferred to the relevant authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.

The Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army reaffirmed its commitment to firmly confronting smuggling and infiltration attempts across the borders, closely monitoring the various methods and means used to carry them out, and taking the necessary operational measures to thwart and address such attempts.
