Ammon News - A sharp rise in temperatures is forecast from Monday as a thermal surface low accompanied by a hot air mass moves into the Kingdom, pushing temperatures 4 to 5 degrees Celsius above seasonal averages and bringing widespread heat through Wednesday, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Moderate summer conditions will prevail across most regions on Sunday before the hotter weather sets in. The Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba will remain hot, while moderate northwesterly winds are expected to become active at intervals during the evening.

Conditions will change noticeably on Monday as the thermal low and associated hot air mass begin affecting the country. Temperatures are forecast to climb significantly, with hot weather spreading across most regions and very hot conditions prevailing in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

The hot weather is expected to persist through Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures remaining elevated across most parts of the country. Very hot conditions will continue in the Badia and the low-lying areas, including the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

Moderate northwesterly winds are forecast to strengthen during the afternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday, raising dust particularly in desert areas.

Sunday's temperatures are forecast to reach 35 degrees Celsius in East Amman and 32 C in West Amman. Highs are expected to reach 30 C in the northern highlands and 29 C in the Sharah highlands, while the plains are forecast to record 34 C.

Temperatures will be considerably higher in the desert and low-elevation regions, reaching 38 C in the Badia, 40 C in the northern Jordan Valley, 42 C at the Dead Sea and in Aqaba, and 43 C in the southern Jordan Valley.
