05-08-2026 10:30 AM

Ammon News - The electricity demand continued to rise with the summer heat, as the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) reported that the Kingdom’s peak load reached 4,220 megawatts (MW) on Tuesday.

The company said the national electricity system remains highly reliable and is operating as planned, with additional measures in place to accommodate increased power consumption driven by persistently high temperatures.

NEPCO noted that it has intensified its operational readiness to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply as demand continues to grow during the hot weather.

The company also urged consumers to use electricity efficiently, particularly during peak demand periods, emphasizing that responsible energy use plays a key role in maintaining the stability and reliability of Jordan’s national power grid.
