Ammon News - A new act of vandalism and theft targeting the street lighting network on the Adassiya–Dead Sea road last night caused a complete power outage, leaving the vital route entirely without illumination.

The attack came shortly after technical crews from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing had completed comprehensive maintenance and restored the lighting system, only for the destructive act to once again deprive road users of lighting and jeopardize traffic safety.

The ministry expressed deep concern over the near-daily recurrence of such incidents, emphasizing that attacks on road lighting networks have become the largest drain on its time, effort, and financial and human resources. Significant funds are being spent on repairing damage instead of improving and developing other roads.

The ministry stressed that it is coordinating closely with security authorities to track down those responsible for vandalizing public property and service facilities so they can face legal consequences. It also urged citizens to report any suspicious activity near lighting networks to help protect national assets and ensure the safety of road users.
