The United States Embassy in Jordan issued a security alert on Thursday, urging American citizens to seek overhead cover and shelter in place immediately and to remain indoors and pay attention to local announcements and alerts, following reports indicate missiles, drones, or rockets are in Jordanian airspace.

The embassy said it will continue to review the situation and provide additional information as needed.

It advised citizens to follow local announcements and alerts, as well as local media outlets, for the latest updates. Travelers were also urged to contact their airlines directly to check for any changes to flight schedules or operations.

The embassy stressed the importance of staying aware of surroundings, remaining vigilant for any unusual activity, and contacting Jordanian police at 911 in case of immediate danger.

It added that emergency assistance services remain available through the embassy’s designated contact numbers, reaffirming that it will continue monitoring the security situation and updating its guidance as necessary.
