Ammon News - Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa has appointed Syrian actress Rozina Lazkani to the list of 70 members selected for the new Syrian People's Assembly.
Syria's Higher Committee for People's Assembly Elections announced the names of the Assembly's members on Wednesday, including both elected representatives and those appointed by the president under his constitutional powers, according to SANA.
Speaking at a press conference in Damascus, Mohammad Taha al-Ahmad said the Assembly's composition aims to strengthen national representation and enrich parliamentary work through a mix of expertise and professional experience.
According to the committee, women make up 15 of the 70 presidential appointees, representing 21.4% of those selected by the president.
Who is Rozina Lazkani?
Rozina Lazkani was born in 1990 in Hama. She studied scenography at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts and began her acting career in 2013 with appearances in two sketches of the series Naterin, directed by Tamer Ishaq.
She made her television and film debut in 2014 and later appeared in several Syrian and Arab drama productions, including the popular TV series Al-Hayba.
