23-06-2026 02:24 PM

Ammon News -

The head of the National Cyber Security Center, Engineer Mohammad Al-Samadi, revealed the most serious cyberattack to have targeted government institutions in the Kingdom.

Speaking at the Government Communication Forum on Tuesday, Al-Samadi said that a healthcare facility in Jordan was previously hit by a cyberattack that disrupted its electronic data systems.

He added that doctors at the facility were forced to revert to paper records to access patients’ medical histories as a result of the attack.

Al-Samadi stressed that the center has never yielded to extortion demands by paying money in any of the cyber incidents it has handled.

He emphasized that complying with ransom demands is not part of the National Cyber Security Center’s policy.
