Two Generations, One Legacy: The Story of Haider and Issa Murad

Khalid Dalal
In the story of Jordan's economic growth and national development, few family names carry the weight, respect and enduring legacy of the Murad family. The late Haider Issa Murad—may God bless his soul—was far more than a successful businessman. He was a visionary who helped shape Jordan's modern commercial landscape and whose entrepreneurial spirit touched generations of Jordanian families. His achievements laid foundations that would continue to inspire long after his lifetime.

Today, that legacy lives on through Senator Issa Haider Murad, who has carried his father's torch and transformed a family inheritance into a story of continuous national service and achievement. This is not simply a story of a son following in his father's footsteps. It is a story of continuity, responsibility and an unwavering commitment to building upon what previous generations so carefully established. Like father, like son—a success story built on values, hard work and an abiding love for
Jordan.

At the helm of the family business, Senator Murad has expanded upon his father's vision while remaining faithful to its original spirit. The Murad family played a pioneering role in bringing modern electronics into Jordanian homes, helping generations of Jordanians embrace new technologies and remain connected to a rapidly changing world. From the earliest days of television to today's advanced consumer technologies, he has continued to ensure that Jordanian consumers benefit from global technological progress.

Yet his greatest strength may well be his understanding that legacy is never a destination; it is a responsibility. He has never been content to preserve what was built before him. Instead, he has consistently sought to expand it, opening new doors of opportunity and demonstrating that Jordanian enterprise can compete with confidence on the international stage.

His contribution, however, extends far beyond business. Through his involvement in numerous national institutions and his service in the Jordanian Senate, he h
as become one of the Kingdom's most recognised voices in economic and public affairs. He has devoted himself to advancing economic growth, supporting employment initiatives and strengthening the relationship between the private sector and public service.

Within the Senate, Murad approaches his responsibilities with seriousness and humility. Whether discussing economic policy, labour issues or matters related to Jordan's cultural heritage, he carries himself with a deep sense of national duty. His role is not one he merely occupies; it is one he honours through service.

On international platforms, he represents Jordan with dignity and confidence, helping strengthen ties between the Kingdom and its partners abroad while always remaining firmly rooted in Jordanian values and interests. Throughout his career, he has consistently sought to build bridges—between Jordan and the world, between business and public service, and between today's challenges and tomorrow's opportunities.

At the heart of his public life lies a profound belief in the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II. He has always viewed service to Jordan as a number one prio
rity. Through his support for economic development, youth empowerment and national institutions, he has demonstrated that true success is measured not only by commercial achievement, but by the opportunities one creates for others.

This is perhaps what most clearly connects father and son. Those who knew the late Haider Murad, may God bless his soul, recognise the same determination, humility and devotion to country reflected in Senator Issa Murad today. The values remain unchanged; only the responsibilities have grown.

The late Murad planted the seeds. His son has nurtured them, allowing them to grow into something that now benefits countless others. Together, they represent more than two successful individuals; they represent two generations of service, vision and unwavering commitment to Jordan.

Ultimately, the Murad story is one about legacy—not one inherited, but one earned and renewed every day through dedication, integrity and purpose. It is a legacy that honours the past, serves the present and will undoubtedly inspire generations to come.
