Ammon News - The Public Security Directorate (PSD) has urged citizens to follow preventive measures to reduce grassland and forest fires, especially as temperatures rise during the summer season.
The directorate stated that Civil Defense teams have responded to 3,844 fires involving grass, forest trees, and agricultural crops between May 1 and June 10. These fires burned approximately 10,402 dunums of land.
It stressed that many of these fires result from preventable human behaviors. It called on the public not to light fires or leave them unattended without ensuring they are completely extinguished, and to immediately report any fire through the unified emergency number 911.
