Restaurants see high demand during Eid al-Adha holiday

31-05-2026 12:58 PM

Ammon News - The head of the Jordan Restaurant and Sweets Shop Owners Association, Omar Al Awad, said that the restaurant sector witnessed strong demand during the Eid holiday, supported by the coincidence of salary payments with the holiday period and the return of large numbers of expatriates to the Kingdom.

Al Awad explained that the busiest activity was concentrated in Amman, as well as in Ajloun Governorate, which attracted large numbers of visitors thanks to its tourism assets, particularly the Ajloun Cable Car project, which has become a major destination for families during holidays and vacations.

He noted that families going out for leisure activities and dining contributed significantly to restaurant business, while the return of expatriates boosted demand for tourism and hospitality services across various governorates.

The sector hopes to maintain this momentum throughout the summer season, especially with increasing numbers of visitors and tourists, which would positively impact economic and commercial activity, he added.
