Ammon News - Energy expert Hashem Aqel predicted an increase in gasoline and diesel prices in June’s fuel pricing, as Brent crude continues to remain above $108 per barrel.
Aqel told "Ammon News" that he expects the price of 90-octane gasoline to rise by 6 piasters, or 6%, while the price of 95-octane gasoline is expected to remain unchanged at 1.31 dinars per liter.
Diesel prices are also expected to increase by 7 piasters, or 8%, Aqel added.
Aqel explained that the government is covering part of the price difference as support for transportation sectors in particular, which heavily rely on diesel, noting that the global price of gasoline currently stands at 1.05 dinars per liter.
