Ammon News - The Ministry of Finance spokesperson, Fayeq Hijazin, said that the ministry’s oversight bodies managed to detect a limited embezzlement case in record time.

Hijazin stated that ministry staff uncovered the embezzlement during routine audits of financial records conducted within the legal framework and in accordance with proper accounting procedures.

He explained that immediately after discovering the embezzlement, the ministry contacted the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission and the Audit Bureau, which promptly launched investigations and audits in cooperation with ministry staff and showed a high level of responsiveness in handling the case.

Following investigations with several suspects, two individuals were detained.

Hijazin stressed that uncovering the limited embezzlement case reflects the ministry’s commitment to accounting standards, governance principles, and proper auditing of all its records and data in line with international accounting standards.
