Ammon News - The Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) clarified that reports circulating on some media outlets about a 20% increase in ride-hailing fares are inaccurate.

Commission spokesperson Abla Al-Washah said that the instructions issued under the 2025 Ride-Hailing Passenger Transport Regulation stipulate that fares for smart application transport services are calculated based on regular taxi fares plus 20%, rather than imposing a new increase on current fares.

Al-Washah explained that any future adjustment to taxi fares would automatically be reflected in ride-hailing app fares according to the percentage specified in the regulations, stressing that the matter concerns the fare calculation mechanism and not an independent decision to raise fares by 20%.

She also urged media outlets and social media users to verify information through official sources to avoid spreading inaccurate reports that could confuse citizens.
