Ammon News - The Cabinet, during its session held Sunday and chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan, approved the renewal of the exemption for marketing companies from the unified fuel derivatives tax through the end of the year.

The Cabinet also approved the updated energy sector strategy for 2026–2030, aimed at strengthening energy supply security, increasing reliance on local energy sources, expanding renewable energy, and improving grid efficiency.

In addition, the Cabinet approved an investment agreement for a green ammonia and green hydrogen production project worth nearly $1 billion, aimed at reinforcing Aqaba’s position as a regional clean energy hub and supporting the transition toward a low-carbon economy.
