Warm weather on Sunday before cooler, rainy shift Monday

Ammon News - Warm conditions are prevailing on Sunday, setting the tone for a brief spell of elevated temperatures before a noticeable shift toward cooler and wetter weather on Monday, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

Temperatures remain above seasonal norms across most regions, with relatively hot conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Medium- and high-level clouds are present, while a slight chance of light, scattered showers is expected during the evening hours in limited parts of central and eastern areas. Winds are southwesterly and moderate, becoming active at times and raising dust, particularly in Badia regions.

The weather pattern is expected to shift on Monday, with temperatures dropping noticeably and conditions turning mild across most regions. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, with scattered showers forecast in several areas, particularly in eastern regions, where thunderstorms may develop at times. Winds will turn northwesterly, blowing at moderate speeds and becoming active intermittently, raising dust in desert areas.

Stability is expected to return on Tuesday, with mild conditions prevailing across most regions and relatively warmer weather continuing in low-lying areas. Some cloud cover will persist, while northwesterly winds remain moderate and occasionally active.

A gradual warming trend is forecast to resume on Wednesday, bringing generally sunny and mild conditions across most regions, while warmer weather returns to the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Winds will remain northwesterly and moderate.

Temperature ranges on Sunday reflect the prevailing conditions, with East Amman forecast between 28 C and 12 C, and West Amman between 26 C and 10 C. Northern highlands will record 25 C to 10 C, while the Sharah highlands range between 24 C and 8 C.

In the Badia, temperatures are expected between 31 C and 11 C, and in the plains between 28 C and 12 C. The northern Jordan Valley is forecast at 34 C to 13 C, rising to 35 C to 18 C in the southern valley. The Dead Sea will record 34 C to 17 C, while Aqaba reaches 34 C to 18 C. Petra
