Ammon News - The CliQ instant payment system recorded transactions worth approximately JD5.71 billion during the first quarter of 2026, compared to about JD5.46 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025, representing an increase of 4.6%.
According to a report by the Jordan Payments and Clearing Company (JoPACC), 53.29 million transactions were executed through the system during the first quarter, compared to 50.61 million transactions in the previous quarter, an increase of 5.3%.
The number of CliQ users rose to 2.22 million at the end of the first quarter, compared to 2.13 million users in the fourth quarter of 2025, achieving growth of 4.6%.
The vast majority of users are Jordanian nationals, constituting approximately 96.0% of the total users (around 2.13 million users), while the number of users of other nationalities is approximately 85,600, or 4%.
The report shows that men represent 60.9% of the system's users, compared to 36.2% for women. The 18-40 age group forms the largest user base, with approximately 541,900 users in the 18-30 age bracket, followed by the 31-40 age group with approximately 775,500 users. JoPACC indicates that individuals constitute 97.7% of the service's users, while institutions account for only 3.9%.
According to the report, money transfers accounted for the majority of CliQ's activity, reaching approximately JD2.84 billion, or 78.3% of the total transaction value. Purchase transactions amounted to approximately JD790 million, or 21.7% of the total.
Users executed 43.2 million money transfer transactions (81.3% of all transactions) compared to 10.11 million purchase transactions (18.9%). The report indicates that approximately 72.9% of transactions were between accounts within the same bank (OnUs), while 27.1% were between accounts at different banks (OffUs).
The average value of a single transaction via "CliQ" in the first quarter was approximately 107 Jordanian dinars, calculated by dividing the total recorded value by the number of executed transactions.
"CliQ" is the newest instant payment system in the Kingdom, launched by "JoPACC " in mid-2020, it enables instant money transfers between bank accounts and e-wallets. The system operates 24/7 and offers services such as instant transfers, payment requests, payment refunds, and QR code payments at points of sale. The service is managed by "JoPACC" in cooperation with the Central Bank of Jordan and is available to all banks operating in the Kingdom.
