Ammon News - Minister of Agriculture Saeb Khreisat met on Wednesday with the head and members of the Agricultural Materials Traders and Producers Association to discuss challenges regarding agricultural inputs, including fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides, and remove obstacles facing local businesses amid the regional conditions affecting the area.

Khreisat said the ministry is moving forward in translating the Royal vision to achieve Arab economic and development integration by strengthening Jordan’s position as a regional hub for food security and agricultural and agro-processing industries. He stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination between the ministry and the Association to ensure the sustainability of agricultural production.

He added that the ministry places priority on ensuring the availability of fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides in quantities and at prices that help stabilize costs for Jordanian farmers, with a positive impact on agricultural output and food security.

For their part, members of the Association’s board reviewed technical and procedural issues facing producers of fertilizers, pesticides, and seeds, praising the ministry’s consultative approach and its commitment to finding practical and swift solutions to sector challenges that support development and strengthen competitiveness.

They also commended the measures taken by the ministry under the current circumstances, saying they had helped maintain market balance and ensure the availability of agricultural commodities at suitable prices.
