Ammon News - Donald Trump has hailed a new “golden age of the Middle East” after agreeing a two-week ceasefire with Iran.

The US president said it was a “big day for world peace”, adding that “big money will be made” from the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

The deal, brokered just an hour and a half before Mr Trump’s deadline to unleash “all hell” on the Islamic Republic, will take effect immediately and last for two weeks. Iran warned that its “finger was on the trigger” to restart strikes.

Mr Trump added that US forces would be “hangin’ around” in the region to ensure the ceasefire was followed.

In a post on Truth Social, he said: “A big day for World Peace! Iran wants it to happen, they’ve had enough! Likewise, so has everyone else!

“The United States of America will be helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz. There will be lots of positive action! Big money will be made. Iran can start the reconstruction process.
