Ammon News - Specialized technical teams at Jordan’s National Cybersecurity Center have successfully foiled an attempted cyberattack targeting the wheat silos management system at the Jordanian General Company for Silos and Supply.
The Center’s President, Mohammad Al-Smadi, said the hacking attempt, whose source was traced to Iran, aimed to manipulate wheat storage temperatures in an effort to damage the Kingdom’s strategic grain reserves.
He confirmed that the attack was immediately contained and had no impact on the silos management system.
The national monitoring and surveillance system operates around the clock to detect and respond to any suspicious cyber activities in line with international best practices and standards, Al-Smadi added.
The National Cybersecurity Center had also previously alerted national institutions and critical and vital sectors to raise cybersecurity readiness levels and strengthen preventive measures.
The Center has designated the emergency hotline (065900500) for reporting cyber incidents or threats.
