Islamists participation in parliamentary elections up in the air

13-07-2010 12:00 AM

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The general secretary for the Islamic Action Front, Hamza Mansour, confirmed that the Muslim Brotherhood had not yet decided whether to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, adding that the group’s position is split between those who favor and those who oppose participating in the elections.

He added in an exclusive statement to 'Ammon News' that the current position regarding the elections is undecided, with an equal number favoring and opposing participation, making it difficult to predict whether the Muslim Brotherhood would participate or not.

Mansour indicated that the group was “in a stage of continued consultation on the matter in order to reach a consultative decision to be announced later”.
