Ammon News - German Ambassador to Jordan Bertram von Moltke said confronting complex challenges requires continuous dialogue, coordinated international efforts and long-term strategic planning, while safeguarding the interests of states in a manner that ensures regional security and sustainable international peace.
Speaking on Sunday during a lecture at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College (RJNDC) titled "German Foreign Policy" for participants in National Defence Course 23, in the presence of the commandant, president and members of the directing staff of the college, Ambassador von Moltke referred to the security and strategic challenges facing Germany and Europe, regional and international threats, and the importance of international cooperation in addressing nuclear proliferation and regional conflicts, in addition to the role of major powers in confronting these challenges.
He explained that Germany is an active member of NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, whose continuity is considered a shared interest of the United States and Europe and ensures the ability to confront global challenges and regional crises.
He affirmed Jordan’s active role and the Jordanian-German strategic partnership, which enhances regional security, supports efforts of moderation and counter-terrorism, and contributes to conflict resolution. He praised Jordan’s humanitarian efforts during the Gaza war, including the provision of medical assistance and the organisation of evacuation operations, noting that Jordan represents a key hub for international cooperation in addressing humanitarian and security crises.
At the end of the lecture, an extensive discussion took place during which the lecturer answered questions and inquiries from participants in the National Defence Programme.
