Ammon News - The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) has forecast a significant drop in temperatures on Sunday, bringing conditions close to the seasonal averages for this time of year. Most regions are expected to experience relatively cold weather, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will enjoy mild temperatures. Low-level clouds will appear, and northwesterly winds of moderate speed will occasionally strengthen in the desert areas.
At night, the weather will remain generally cold, with partly cloudy skies over northern and central parts of the kingdom. Northwesterly winds will continue at a moderate pace. Early morning fog is expected over the northern highlands, reducing horizontal visibility.
On Monday, the 5th day of Ramadan, skies will be partly cloudy, with relatively cold conditions in most areas and mild temperatures in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. In the evening, scattered light rain is expected in northern regions, God willing, accompanied by northwesterly winds that may occasionally intensify.
At night, the weather will be cold and partly cloudy to cloudy, with rainfall expected at intervals in northern and central regions of the kingdom, extending to limited parts of the southwestern areas, God willing. In the late night hours, thunderstorms and hail may briefly accompany the rainfall in northern Jordan. Winds will be northwesterly, ranging from moderate to occasionally active speeds.
Also, the JMD warned of reduced horizontal visibility during the early morning and nighttime hours due to fog and low clouds touching the ground over mountainous areas.
It also cautioned against reduced visibility at times due to dust in desert regions, as well as slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall.
Temperatures are expected to continue declining on Tuesday, with rainfall forecast at intervals across northern and central parts of the kingdom, extending to limited areas in the southwestern regions. There will also be a chance of light rain in parts of the northeastern desert.
Northwesterly winds will be active, raising dust in desert areas and potentially reducing visibility at times.
