Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, will represent Jordan at ‘Board of Peace’ meeting scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C. on Thursday.
The Board of Peace, launched by U.S. President Donald Trump, is set to hold its inaugural meeting in Washington to discuss reconstruction efforts in Gaza.
Jordan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Walid Obeidat, had previously affirmed that the establishment of the Board of Peace and the Palestinian National Committee to administer Gaza—as temporary transitional bodies formed under UN Security Council Resolution 2803—should lead to consolidating a permanent ceasefire, preventing displacement and annexation, ensuring Israel’s full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, supporting reconstruction efforts, and advancing a political horizon toward the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
