Ammon News - The Jordanian Helicopter Unit, Congo/2, on Friday departed King Abdullah II Air Base for the Democratic Republic of Congo to begin its mission as part of international peacekeeping forces.
The Director of Air Operations said the unit has completed all technical, operational, and training preparations, and is fully ready to perform its duties in the mission area. Its tasks include close air support, operational transport, medical evacuation, and logistical assistance, in line with the rules of engagement and UN mission directives.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian Congo/1 helicopter unit returned home on Saturday after concluding its deployment, having carried out its responsibilities with efficiency and professionalism.
Jordan’s participation in international peacekeeping missions underscores the Armed Forces’ firm commitment to supporting global security and stability and highlights the high level of competence and advanced capabilities of Jordanian personnel.
