King meets with political, media figures

Ammon News - His Majesty King Abdullah II held a meeting on Wednesday with political and media figures, which covered key local, regional, and international issues.

During the meeting, held at Al Husseiniya Palace, His Majesty affirmed that Jordan is moving forward with the implementation of a number of megaprojects in vital sectors to strengthen the national economy and serve citizens.

On regional issues, the King reiterated that Jordan places its interests and those of its citizens above all other considerations, noting that the Kingdom is working to restore stability in the region.

Turning to developments related to Iran, His Majesty said Jordan hopes tensions will be de-escalated through peaceful means, reaffirming the Kingdom’s position in support of diplomacy and dialogue.

The King also talked about Jordan’s relations with Syria, stressing that the Kingdom is invested in Syria’s stability, and that coordination is ongoing between the two countries’ institutions to expand cooperation and exchange expertise across all fields.

His Majesty reaffirmed the importance of ensuring implementation of the agreement to end the war on Gaza in all its stages, and halting Israeli escalations in the West Bank.

The King commended the attendees’ efforts to disseminate accurate and factual information, and promote national spirit, stressing the need for the national interest to be at the heart of political and media discourse.

For their part, the attendees discussed a number of local and international issues related to politics, economic sectors, and media.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh attended the meeting.
