Ammon News - Minister of Health Dr. Ibrahim Al-Bdour has ordered the rollout of cardiac catheterization services for patients suffering acute heart attacks at Ministry of Health hospitals starting February 1, 2026.
Al-Bdour explained that hospitals equipped to perform cardiac interventions—namely, Al-Bashir, Prince Hamza, Al-Hussein, Al-Salt, Zarqa, Karak, Tafila, Princess Basma, and King Abdullah University Hospital—have been reinforced with on-call medical staff working around the clock to perform emergency cardiac catheterizations 24/7.
The remaining Ministry of Health hospitals have been linked to these equipped hospitals through a specific mechanism for the direct referral of myocardial infarction cases and catheterization procedures, the Minister added.
