Ammon News - Minister of Transport Nidal Qatamin on Tuesday discussed with Chinese Ambassador Guo Wei prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation across multiple transport sectors.
The talks focused on developing Jordan’s transport sector by leveraging advanced Chinese expertise, particularly in railways, localizing industries and products linked to major rail projects, introducing modern transport and traffic technologies, and addressing urban congestion.
The meeting also underscored the importance of reactivating a direct air route between Jordan and China to boost travel, trade, and tourism exchanges.
Qatamin highlighted the depth of Jordanian-Chinese relations and stressed the need to translate them into practical cooperation to modernize the transport sector through advanced technologies, serving shared interests.
He emphasized opening direct dialogue on investment opportunities in Jordan’s transport sector and affirmed the ministry’s readiness for close coordination to deliver tangible outcomes.
For his part, the ambassador said China looks forward to expanding cooperation and investment in Jordan, noting the value of deploying advanced Chinese technologies in transport projects and providing technical expertise.
