24-12-2025 03:13 PM

Ammon News - Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court and Chairman of the Committee for Following Up the Implementation of Royal Initiatives, Yousef Issawi, on Wednesday inaugurated and checked on a series of development projects in Zarqa Governorate, implemented under direct Royal directives aimed at improving living conditions and public services.

Issawi inaugurated a new public park in Zarqa Camp, established after Royal instructions were issued following His Majesty King Abdullah II’s meeting with camp representatives. The project is part of a broader package of initiatives targeting refugee camps across the Kingdom.

During a tour in the park, attended by Zarqa Governor Firas Abu Qaoud and Director of the Department of Palestinian Affairs Rafiq Kharfan, Issawi was briefed on the park’s facilities, mainly the safe children’s play areas, shaded seating, fencing, a football field with artificial turf, and service amenities, which provide a vital recreational outlet for camp residents and neighboring areas.

Issawi also inspected the rehabilitation project of the Arab Bank Park, implemented under the Royal initiatives in partnership with Arab Bank as part of its corporate social responsibility program.

The park, originally established more than 25 years ago, was upgraded in response to repeated community requests during Royal visits. The project reflects a "successful model" of public-private partnership in community development. He reviewed the final stages of work, accompanied by senior officials from Arab Bank and the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation.

The project houses a two-story Abdul Hameed Shoman Office building in Zarqa, featuring multipurpose halls, youth and children activity spaces, cultural services, and facilities accessible to persons with disabilities, serving all age groups.

Additionally, Issawi inspected the construction of a military culture school in Russeifa District, implemented in line with Royal directives to strengthen educational infrastructure. The project, now 80 percent complete, comprises two modern classroom buildings with 30 classrooms, science and computer labs, administrative offices, and student facilities.

Concluding the tour, he visited the "Core Sports City" project in Russeifa, established under Royal instructions to serve local communities and youth in particular. The visit was attended by Minister of Youth Raed Adwan and the Zarqa governor.

In press statements, Issawi said Royal initiatives continue to be implemented across Zarqa and all governorates to address citizens’ pressing priorities, underscoring His Majesty’s commitment to enhancing service quality and social welfare.

He noted these projects, implemented in coordination with government plans and private-sector partners, are designed to deliver "tangible" improvements in public services and community well-being. Petra
