Ammon News - President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas said that Palestine is ready to work with US President Donald Trump, mediators, and partners to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
During a joint press conference with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah on Monday, President Abbas highlighted the crucial role Greece, supported by the European Union, can play in advancing peace and stability in the region and beyond.
The president underscored the urgent need to pressure the Israeli government to halt actions undermining Palestinian national institutions, attacks on Christian and Islamic holy sites, and the erosion of the two-state solution through settlement expansion and colonist violence, while emphasizing the critical importance of releasing the withheld Palestinian tax revenues.
President Abbas also underscored the urgent need to implement President Trump’s plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803 by enforcing the ceasefire, ensuring the immediate flow of humanitarian aid including food, medicine, and shelter supplies, preventing displacement, ensuring the immediate withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces, and enabling the Palestinian government and its security agencies to fully assume their responsibilities, in addition to accelerating reconstruction efforts.
