Jordan: Regional Red Cross and Red Crescent Family Links Network Conference Kicks Off in Amman

17-11-2025 12:45 PM

Ammon News - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Jordan and the Jordan National Red Crescent Society (JNRCS) are hosting the 7th Family Links Network Conference for the Near and Middle East Region, taking place from 17 to 19 November 2025 in Amman, Jordan.
The three-day conference brings together representatives from 11 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies — Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Bahrain, Egypt, Yemen, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, and Qatar — alongside representatives from ICRC delegations and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) across the region.
The Family Links Network serves as a vital platform for collaboration across the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (RCRC). It unites efforts to keep families together and to help people who have lost contact with their loved ones as a result of conflict, natural disaster, or migration. Through the global family links network, the RCRC Movement works together to reconnect separated family members and support families during what is often an extremely distressing time — including by providing administrative assistance and referrals to others who can help. We have been bringing families back together since 1859.
During the conference, participants will exchange experiences, best practices, and lessons learned in addressing the humanitarian needs of separated families, the missing, the deceased, and their relatives.
Together, participants aim to strengthen regional cooperation and reaffirm their shared humanitarian commitment to alleviating the indescribable suffering of those who remain separated from their loved ones as a result of a humanitarian crisis, or don’t know if their relatives are dead or alive.
