Princess Basma Patronizes Gathering Honoring Late King Hussein

Ammon News - Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Talal, President of the Jordanian Association for Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, on Wednesday patronized a Boy Scouts and Girl Guides Gathering titled "Loyalty to the Late King Hussein Scout Camp" in South Shuna.

Organized by the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides Directorate at the Ministry of Education, the gathering brought together 500 participants from across the Kingdom to mark the 90th anniversary of the birth of the late King Hussein bin Talal. The event aimed to promote the role of the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides movement in supporting education and fostering national values.

In her remarks, Her Royal Highness said the occasion honors an exceptional leader who instilled in Jordanians the values of humanity, belonging, and unity, leaving behind a legacy of national pride and progress. She underlined that the late King’s vision focused on citizens’ well-being and on building a strong and resilient nation, guided by his belief that "human beings are our most precious asset."

Princess Basma also highlighted the late King’s faith in youth and their ability to contribute to Jordan’s development, noting that this belief continues under His Majesty King Abdullah II, "the heir to these humanitarian principles," and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein, who remain dedicated to serving Jordanians and shaping a prosperous future.

Her Highness praised the Ministry of Education’s commitment to supporting the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, which embodies the values of giving, volunteerism, and belonging.
