27-10-2025 04:28 PM

Ammon News - Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa on Monday met with a delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD) to discuss enhancing cooperation.

During the meeting, attended by AFD representatives from the Takatof project, Bani Mustafa highlighted the importance of partnerships with the French Development Agency (AFD) and the French Expertise Agency (AFE) in providing sustainable social services that meet the needs of local communities and positively impact target groups.

She noted that the Takatof project, funded by AFD and implemented in cooperation with AFE, aims to strengthen social cohesion by developing sustainable social services in the ministry’s community development centers in Amman, Karak, and Jerash, in collaboration with civil society organizations.

These services include awareness campaigns, economic empowerment, violence prevention, and promoting community participation.

Bani Mustafa added that the project also focuses on rehabilitating community centers to ensure they are fit for service delivery and on building the capacity of their staff.

The Ministry is enhancing the skills of social workers in accordance with the Social Work Practice Regulations, emphasizing the importance of training in social cohesion.

She praised AFD’s role in supporting social protection, strengthening civil society organizations, and training in social cohesion, within the Ministry’s approach of openness and partnership with all relevant stakeholders.

AFD and AFE representatives said the project is key to supporting the ministry’s work in multiple social areas.

They expressed their interest in further developing community services and expanding cooperation in line with the ministry’s priorities and the National Social Protection Strategy.
