Ammon News - Prime Minister Jafar Hassan directed preparing a comprehensive development plan for the Azraq region, aiming to transform it into a leading environmental and tourism destination by leveraging its natural reserves, including the Shaumari Wildlife Reserve and the wetland reservs and newly developed water bodies.

During a field visit to the Azraq District on Sunday, the Hassan discussed repositioning Azraq on the tourism map, especially following the recent announcement by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, naming Azraq North among the world's best tourist villages for 2025.

He instructed authorities to expedite the development of designated industrial and craft zones and to address zoning needs for residential, commercial and craft areas.

Accompanied by the Ministers of Local Administration and Public Works and Housing, the Prime Minister reviewed current and planned projects aimed at boosting Azraq's tourism and development potential.

Visiting the Azraq Comprehensive Military Medical Centre, the Prime Minister directed that locals be granted access to its services, calling for enhanced cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the Royal Medical Services.

He ordered the establishment of an obstetrics and gynecology department and an increase in dialysis capacity to meet local demand.

At the Azraq Government Health Centre, he listened to feedback from patients and staff, instructing officials to increase medical and nursing personnel, expand maternity and childcare services to seven days a week, provide an additional ambulance and implement improvements to overall health services.

The Prime Minister visited Ain Al-Bayda Elementary School, ordering the expansion and rehabilitation of its facilities, construction of new classrooms, establishment of a computer lab and enhancement of playgrounds and student activity spaces.

In South Amman, he inspected the South Amman Land Registration Directorate, directing the addition of staff and equipment, modernisation of electronic systems, extended working hours and comprehensive maintenance to better serve people in the area.

At Khreibet Al-Souq Comprehensive Health Centre, which serves over 200,000 annually, the Prime Minister ordered rapid expansion of its departments and the provision of specialised staff to improve healthcare delivery.

He concluded his tour with a visit to Jawa Secondary School for Boys, where he instructed immediate general maintenance and a complete renovation of the school's facilities.
