Ammon News - Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed 834,894 passengers in September, marking a 15.7% increase, compared to the same month 2024, the Airport International Group (AIG) announced on Wednesday.

In its statement, the AIG said aircraft movements reached 6,965, up by 16.9%, while air cargo stood at 6,282 tons, a 10 percent rise compared to September 2024.

From the beginning of 2025 through September, QAIA handled 7,302,682 passengers, up 7.5% from the same period 2024.

Aircraft movements totaled 59,268, recording a 4.7% increase, while air cargo dropped by 10.8 percent to 51,547 tons.

AIG CEO Nicolas Devillier said September saw a gradual return to normal air traffic levels at QAIA, reflecting a "strong recovery" following the summer season.

Devillier noted the "rebound" was driven by the return of Jordanian expatriates, steady travel demand, and enhanced airline connectivity, underscoring the airport’s resilience and operational stability despite regional challenges.

Devillier highlighted the dedication of AIG teams and partners in sustaining this momentum, enhancing the passenger experience, and reinforcing QAIA’s position as Jordan’s main gateway to the world.
